Movida Lorne
MoVida Lorne is situated on the ground floor of the Lorne Hotel — a building that forms part of the beautiful Lorne streetscape, with filtered views through the gumtrees to the captivating surf. The project’s main challenge was to integrate the iconic Melbourne restaurant brand into a long-established and much-loved coastal venue.
The interior design references the coastal landscape through the use of raw materials and a natural palette.
“The intent is to create a warm, relaxed and fun environment while seamlessly accompanying the beautiful cuisine that Frank Camorra is renowned for.”
A palette of rich timbers, dark terrazzo floors, fluted glass, milky greens and terracotta accents were selected to create a warm and textural interior that reflects the natural hues of Lorne’s incredible setting — where the coast meets the rainforest.
Upon entry to the space sits a large wine bottle display and waiter station, a bespoke joinery piece designed to provide division between the venue’s adjoining wine and gin bar while offering ample, practical storage for staff during service.
